Objectives of the programme
The Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management trains students for operational and administrative management positions. The programme combines cutting-edge management science with traditional know-how in hotel and restaurant management. Course work is reinforced through immediate application of knowledge in practical settings.
Teaching Method
Students are expected to participate actively in every phase of this highly internationalised and multicultural academic programme. Course work complements practical training, cultural and technical seminars. Vatel’s teaching staff strives to attain outrivaled teaching standards by pushing back the boundaries in their respective disciplines.
Programme Organisation
The programme consists of a fixed curriculum of required courses. Students alternate between classroom sessions and practical training sessions in which they have the opportunity to apply and test what they have learnt. This programme emphasises on operational and strategic management tools required for international hotel and restaurant management. At the same time nurturing in the student a professional attitude and behavioural characteristics essential for greeting and serving customers and to the effective practice of this profession.
The programme is structured around alternating semesters of course work and semesters of paid practical training in France or abroad, with each
segment lasting 5 months. During an internship, the student is provided with free board and lodging as well as a monthly allowance of approximately 300 to 500 Euros.
