“Bine ati venit la Vatel!” Six high school students from Romania spent two weeks at Vatel Nimes, working in several different departments of the Vatel Hotel & Spa, the four-star practical application hotel for Vatel Nimes students. A very rewarding cross-cultural experience both for them as well as for Vatel students, who already have vast cross-cultural experience with the 47 different nationalities already present on the Campus.
During these weeks of observation and practical application work, Adelina and Roberto saw what rush hour looked like in the kitchens, Ionut and Florin discovered what goes on in Accommodations and Housekeeping, and Marcos and Radu Tudor were introduced to the hierarchy in the restaurant.
Lina Coroianu, the French teacher at Constantin Brancusi High School, was delighted that six students from her school were able to gain experience in not only the different departments in hotels, but also the unique educational concept of a French Business School specialized in Hospitality and Tourism Management. An international professional experience, an introduction to the “French art of hospitality,” and the six high school students returned to Romania, already thinking about future professional projects.
In May 2015, we will continue this experience with students from Poland, who will share the daily lives of our Vatel Nimes students.
=> Living up to its mission of proposing an international and cross-cultural curriculum to its students, Vatel Group is always enthusiastic about hosting young students from all different countries on its already very international Campuses, where students learn how to live together and manage multiculturalism on a daily basis. This helps prepare them for the melting pot of nationalities who work in international hotels, who they are sure to work with in their future professions.
