Goal - Human Resources

During his three years at Vatel, Jean-Claude Poinsignon loved HR. He’s beginning his graduate studies with the goal of having a career in this field and will tell us about what he’s doing to ensure his success.

Goal - Human Resources

"Vatel change la vie", or in English, Vatel changes Lives: this is the title of the song written by students for the Vatel Nimes 25th anniversary gala dinner.  “Vatel is a School of Life.” This is the first sentence that Jean-Charles Poinsignon, the 2015 Bachelor Vatel Valedictorian had to say to us.

“I can’t really say that I have one very best memory of the three years I spent at Vatel Nimes, but rather a feeling of satisfaction and pride to have had this cross-cultural experience with the forty or so nationalities on our Campus.

As I often say, above all, Vatel is a “School of Life.” It’s a school that immerses you in an exciting professional universe where you meet great new people; it makes you look at the world around you differently while discovering unsuspected aspects of your own personality.”

HR: Human Revelations

Administration, Marketing, IT, Economics, Self-Image, Nutrition... Though Jean-Charles liked all these courses, he fell in love with another one: Human Resources.

“This was a fascinating subject. Rich and instructive, its program made us quickly understand that Human Resources has an essential role to play in the economic performance of a company. That’s what this course shows us, in the way that it’s taught at Vatel, because they focus on it from social, economic, legal and financial points of view.”

Jean-Charles would like to continue learning about Human Resources, in the framework of his MBA Vatel.

“I’ve decided to continue with post-graduate studies for several reasons:

  • Consolidation of my knowledge of the tourism, international hospitality and luxury brand management. Dynamic sectors with jobs to be had all over the world.
  • Development of my managerial know-how using a strategic approach to problems companies experience. The MBA Vatel allows us to discover various managerial functions that I have to know about and experience to near my goal”.

When he’ll graduate in 2017, Jean-Charles would like to begin his career in a hotel group in France, before going abroad to learn the tricks of the Human Resources trade in Asia, the Americas and Africa.

In a much longer time frame and to build upon these first experiences, he would like to be a consultant in Human Resources or even a professor. At Vatel perhaps? Jean-Charles, the door is always open!
