For their first participation in the 4L Trophy, Alexandre Piquer and Tanguy Forcade, 23 and 20 years old, hope to expand their cultural knowledge as well as learning more about themselves.
These two students wanted to take part in this odyssey to “travel” while participating in the first 100% student rally. This duo will have many a path-breaking emotion. They’ll experience happiness and joy in the spirit of the original Paris-Dakar race.
The 4L Trophy, first and foremost a dimension of solidarity.
All the participants must take school supplies for children in primary and middle school.Alexandre and Tanguy are bringing 60 book bags and 15 calculators. To donate these supplies directly to the children, they’ll have to be chosen as one of the 40 ambassadors of the “Les Enfants du Désert” Association. They’ll also be bringing food for the “4L Solidaire” Association. Though the solidarity dimension predominates in their commitment, adventure and competition also play a key role.
The 4L Trophy, a 100% student competition.
The goal is to cross the 6,000 kilometers of the Moroccan desert, a unique but difficult environment. They’ll need some mechanical knowledge too.“We’re just beginners in this field, we had to learn the basics, but we’re still hoping to win,” explained the young men with a smile.
The 4L Trophy, a multicultural exchange.
What Alexandre and Tanguy really like, besides of course the adventure and solidarity, is to be able to speak with the many participating students, 18 to 28 years old, from all over the world. They also are hoping to contact the local populations during this adventure and speak with them.
To be able to take full advantage of the cross-cultural dimension of this trip, they must understand the customs of the indigenous people. This is why they asked Juliette Thiolas, their Geopolitics professor at Vatel Bordeaux, to give them some advice and tips.

Alexandre Piquer and Tanguy Forcade will also meet two other Vatel Lyon students (Amandine Gaillon and Pauline Sibiril), in this rally.
Vatel Group will thus be well represented in the Moroccan desert. We hope that all four of them have an unforgettable adventure. And of course, we hope that they’ll win!
