Why did you choose to work in the hospitality industry?
Working in the hospitality industry was a given for me because, as a daughter of Vatel alumni, I grew up in this environment. My parents are both restaurant owners and I have had the opportunity to work with them in their restaurants since I was 16 years old. I also had the chance to travel a lot with my family all over the world: something that made me want to discover what goes on behind the scenes and work in the hospitality industry.
Tell us about your internships.
In my first year, I had a wonderful experience during my 4-month internship at the Ritz Paris. I mainly worked at the Ritz Bar, as an assistant waitress. I learned a lot, met a lot of people and really liked the world of luxury.
I will do my second year internship in Monaco, at the Hotel de Paris: a gorgeous world-famous establishment, with an international client base that I would love to know more about.
I cannot wait to go back to the field: these internships are all valuable once in a lifetime opportunities, so we must know how to make the most of them.
What are your upcoming projects?
After Vatel, I would like to work in luxury hotels, rather than follow the path of my parents in the restaurant industry. I'm particularly interested in customer relations, because I really like being in contact with different types of customers. But I still have time to discover all the trades of the hospitality industry during my next internships. I want to travel and discover new cultures and new countries, and I know that working in this sector will give me the chance to make my dreams come true.
