Full employment, multiple career options, quick promotions, international careers and a sense of family: the hospitality industry offers to those entering the sector great opportunities for both professional and personal development. Under one condition: the hospitality industry should not be chosen by default but by complete conviction!Karine Benzazon, Managing Director of Vatel Lyon and Vatel Nîmes.
“After earning my baccalauréat S (Science stream), I started a degree in Economics at the Université Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne. I had good grades but I didn’t know what I was studying to become. The overly theoretical nature of these studies wasn’t for me. I wanted something much more concrete. But, back then, I didn’t know what.”
Determined but cautious, he decided to meet with a guidance counselor to assess his strengths and weaknesses.
"When the person in front of me made me aware of the hospitable nature of my personality, I immediately thought of one of my acquaintances, Mathieu Saas*, who was a student at Vatel Paris. I asked him a lot of questions to be sure of my decision. Then, I entered Vatel Paris in 2008. Since then, I have never regretted my decision."
*Mathieu Saas has been the Italy, Greece and Israel IT Director at Accor Hotels since 2016.
