Tips from Justine Talbot - Vatel

Tips from Justine Talbot

I am a 3rd year student at Vatel Bordeaux and I am originally from Lyon. Today, I'm going to share with you the addresses that I think are worth a visit in Bordeaux.

You feel like...

Going out?

Let yourself be tempted by a plate of charcuterie or cheese with a glass of wine at the 'Bistrot du Fromager'. Located on the docks at the Chartrons tram stop, it's the perfect place to relax after an exhausting day of school.

Chilling on a terrace?

I recommend you to go to Place du Marché des Chartrons where you will find several bars and restaurants to enjoy a ray of sunshine on a terrace. From the English Pub 'The Market Tavern' to the traditional 'Bistrot des Anges', everyone can be satisfied.

Walking around?

What better way to end a weekend than with a Sunday stroodeRll? At the Market on the docks you can go from merchant to merchant to find real delights: oysters, a roast chicken, a tagine, Argentinean specialties. You can even have lunch there!

Having a drink?

If you feel like having a drink in a lively and typical Bordeaux street, head to Rue du Parlement Saint-Pierre. There you will find various bars, including 'Milo's' which is a very nice place to get together with friends.

Treating your taste buds?

'Chez Thérèse' is the perfect place that combines delicious dishes with a very atypical atmosphere. Located on Place Saint-Michel, this restaurant has recreated all the rooms of a grandmother's house, so you can enjoy a delicious dish in Thérèse's bathtub.

Going for Shopping ?

You should move away a bit from the street St Catherine to find nice shops, from the street St James to the street Pas St George you will certainly find your happiness. And if you want to make small gifts I advise you to go to Au 'Bonendroi' which is full of useful and funny goodies.

Discovering the region around Bordeaux ?

The Cap Ferret is an iconic place when you want to discover the surroundings of Bordeaux. And if you want to take the opportunity to taste oysters, you have to pass by the Cabane d'Hortense that offers local products.
