“People may think that as French is not my native language it would be harder for me to succeed in my studies. I turned this into a strength by paying special attention to my reports in French and by earning extra points for the Spanish exams. Without forgetting the fact that being bilingual is a huge asset when you’re writing up your resume in the Hospitality field.”
This can do attitude helped Alejandra take first place as the Bachelor Vatel Paris of the year, with an overall grade average of 14.66/20.
3 years, 3 very complementary internships
She chose to work in the accommodations department in the Grand Hotel Loreamar in St. Jean de Luz, on the Basque Coast for her first French internship. “That was the first time I had worked in a hotel and that confirmed my choice that this is the field I wanted to spend my career in.”
For her second year, she chose London for her international internship, after having spent the entire academic year in Vatel Mauritius in the framework of the Marco Polo program. She worked in the Sales & Marketing department as well as the Reception and Guest Services department in the Melia White House Hotel for seven months. “I not only improved my English but also my knowledge of hospitality related software: HR administration, customer feed-back, etc.”
