3-Year Program: The training is directly accessible after the 9th grade. No prior diploma in cooking is necessary; only your motivation matters.
1 or 2-Year Program: You can join the accelerated program if you already hold a CAP, a Professional Title of Level 3, or a High School Diploma in the fields of restaurant, culinary arts, or pastry.
No, for the 3-year program, no professional experience is required. Vatel Academy is primarily looking for motivated, curious, and determined candidates who are eager to learn.
It's a program that combines theoretical instruction at Vatel Academy with hands-on experience in a company. You'll have employee status with an employment contract, and you'll alternate between periods of classes and periods in the company. It's the best way to learn a profession in a concrete way. Yes! As an apprentice, you are an employee of the host company and receive a monthly income. The amount varies based on your age and year of training and corresponds to a percentage of the minimum wage. (Open only to persons who have the authorization to work in France)
No, the apprentice does not bear the cost of the training. The tuition fees are fully paid by the company through its OPCO (Skills Operator). (Open only to persons who have the authorization to work in France)

Thanks to your dual skill set, many doors will open for you: Kitchen Assistant, Cook, Section Chef (for hot dishes, cold pantry, or pastry), Restaurant Pastry Chef, and more.
Yes, the restaurant industry has a high demand for qualified and competent staff. The experience you gain during your apprenticeship, combined with your two professional titles, makes you a very attractive candidate for employers right after you graduate. Often, the host company offers a permanent contract to the apprentice if the experience has been successful for both parties.
You will obtain two state-recognized professional titles:
A Level 3 "Commis de Cuisine" title, which validates your skills to join a kitchen brigade.
A Level 4 "Chef de Partie Arts Culinaires et Pâtisserie" title, which certifies your specialization and ability to take on responsibilities.
