This program is designed for those who enjoy gastronomy and interacting with customers. It's an apprenticeship that combines theoretical education at Vatel Academy with practical, hands-on experience in a company.

Prerequisites

  • 3 years: For students coming from the 9th grade.
  • 1 or 2 years: For holders of a CAP, a professional title of level 3, or a High School Diploma in Restaurant, Culinary Arts, or Pastry.

    All classes are taught in French, and you must be authorized to work in France to apply

Restaurant Service

You will obtain two state-recognized professional titles:

A Level 3 "Restaurant Server" title, which validates your skills to join a team.

A Level 4 "Assistant Merchandising Unit Manager" title, which certifies your specialization and ability to take on responsibilities.

A Level 4 title is equivalent to a professional high school diploma.

3-Year Program: The training is directly accessible after the 9th grade. No prior diploma in the restaurant field is necessary; only your motivation matters.

An apprenticeship contract is generally available to young people between the ages of 16 and 29.

You will have employee status with an employment contract and alternate between periods of classes and periods in the company. It is the best way to learn a profession in a hands-on way.

Yes! As an apprentice, you are an employee of the company you work for and will receive a salary each month. The amount varies based on your age and year of training and corresponds to a percentage of the minimum wage.

No, the training is not the responsibility of the apprentice. The tuition fees are paid in full by the company through its OPCO (Skills Operator).

Vatel Academy actively helps you in your search through its large network of partners in the region and assists you in preparing your CV and interviews. However, your own search and motivation are major assets in finding the right company for you.

Yes, the restaurant sector has a strong demand for qualified and competent staff. The experience you gain during your apprenticeship, combined with your two professional titles, makes you a very attractive candidate for employers as soon as you finish your training. Often, the host company offers a permanent contract to the apprentice if the experience has been successful for both parties.
