Vocational program at Vatel Academy
A comprehensive and professional program that teaches you how to master a variety of techniques, including creating different types of doughs, creams, decorations, and viennoiseries (pastries).
The program is an apprenticeship, which means it combines theoretical instruction at Vatel Academy with hands-on work experience in a company.
In 1 year for holders of a CAP, a Level 4 professional certification (titre professionnel niveau 4), or a High School Diploma (Baccalauréat) in Restaurant Services, Cooking, or Pastry.
All classes are taught in French, and you must be authorized to work in France to apply.

Yes, the restaurant industry is strongly in need of qualified and skilled staff. The experience you gain during your apprenticeship, combined with your two professional certifications, makes you a very attractive candidate for employers right after graduation. Often, the host company offers a permanent contract (CDI) to the apprentice if the experience has been positive for both sides.
Vatel Academy actively helps you in your search through its large network of partner restaurants in the region. Vatel Academy also assists you in preparing your CV and interviews. However, your own search and motivation are major assets in finding the company that's right for you.
You will receive a diploma recognized by the French Ministry of National Education: the CAP Pastry.
State Diploma: The CAP (Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnelle) is a national diploma awarded by the Ministry of National Education and Youth.
The apprenticeship contract is open to young people aged 16 to 29.

Yes! As an apprentice, you are an employee of the host company and receive a monthly income. The amount varies based on your age and year of training and corresponds to a percentage of the minimum wage. (Open only to persons who have the authorization to work in France)
This program alternates between theoretical courses at Vatel Academy and practical experience in a company. You are an employee with an employment contract, and you alternate between periods of study at Vatel Academy and periods working for a company. It's the best way to learn a trade in a hands-on way!

Not necessarily. Vatel Academy mainly looks for motivated, curious, and determined candidates who are eager to learn. However, you must hold a CAP or an equivalent qualification to access the one-year track.
If you already have a CAP, a Level 4 Professional Title, or a Baccalaureate in the catering, cooking, or pastry trades, you can take this fast-paced course.
